Product Description
The Ring
Few gemstones command a room the way a 3 carat emerald cut alexandrite does.
This 3 Carat Emerald Cut Alexandrite Halo Engagement Ring Set is designed for the discerning buyer who understands that true luxury lies in rarity — and nothing in the gemstone world is rarer than alexandrite's signature color-change. In daylight, the 9x7mm step-cut center stone radiates deep forest green. Under warm incandescent light, it transforms to a rich violet-purple. The same stone. Two completely different colors. This is the alexandrite effect — and in an emerald cut, it is at its most dramatic.
The emerald cut's broad, open step facets do not scatter light the way a brilliant cut does. Instead, they hold it — in deep, mirror-like flashes that let the color-change play out with full clarity and depth. There is nothing quite like watching a fine emerald cut alexandrite move through light.
A micro-pavé halo of D-Colorless, VS2–VVS1 lab-grown diamonds frames the center stone with precision and brilliance. The matching diamond eternity band completes the set — an unbroken circle of light that pairs seamlessly with the engagement ring and wears beautifully as a standalone piece.
Crafted entirely in solid 14K White Gold. Handmade. Made to order.

The Stone: Lab-Grown Alexandrite
Natural alexandrite is among the rarest gemstones in existence — rarer than ruby, emerald, or diamond of comparable quality. Its defining characteristic, the alexandrite effect, is caused by the presence of chromium, which absorbs light differently depending on the wavelength, producing green in daylight and red or purple under incandescent light.
Giliarto's lab-grown alexandrite is chemically and optically identical to natural alexandrite — the same chrysoberyl composition, the same chromium-driven color-change, the same hardness of 8.5 on the Mohs scale. It is ethically grown with no mining, no environmental impact, and full traceability from creation to setting.
A natural alexandrite of this size and color-change quality would be exceptionally rare and priced well beyond $30,000. Lab-grown alexandrite delivers the same phenomenon — without compromise.
The Accent Stones: Lab-Grown Diamonds
The 198 accent stones in the engagement ring halo and pavé, and the stones in the eternity band, are lab-grown diamonds — real diamonds in every measurable sense. Graded D-Colorless and VS2–VVS1, they are chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined diamonds, produced without mining and certified to the same standards.
This is not cubic zirconia. This is not moissanite. These are diamonds.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes emerald cut the ideal shape for alexandrite? The emerald cut — a rectangular step-cut shape — features broad, open facets that function like mirrors rather than prisms. Unlike brilliant cuts, which break light into sparkle, the step cut holds light in wide, unobstructed flashes. This makes the color-change of alexandrite visible in its full intensity, shifting cleanly from green to purple with every change in lighting. For a color-change stone, no cut is more revealing.
Is lab-grown alexandrite real alexandrite? Yes. Lab-grown alexandrite is chemically chrysoberyl with chromium (BeAl₂O₄ + Cr), identical in composition to natural alexandrite. It exhibits the same color-change effect, the same hardness (8.5 Mohs), and the same optical properties. The only difference is origin — grown in a laboratory rather than extracted from the earth.
Are the accent stones real diamonds? Yes. Giliarto uses lab-grown diamonds — not moissanite, not simulants. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, certified to the same color, clarity, and cut standards as mined diamonds. The accent stones in this set are graded D-Colorless and VS2–VVS1, the highest grades available.
Can I order the engagement ring without the eternity band? Yes. Contact Giliarto directly before placing your order to arrange a single-ring purchase at an adjusted price.
Is this ring available in other alexandrite sizes? Yes. This setting is available in 2ct (8x6mm), 4ct (10x8mm), and other dimensions. Contact us for availability and pricing on custom sizes.
How long does production take? All Giliarto rings are handcrafted to order. Please allow 19–21 business days for production and shipping. A 3D preview can be arranged before production begins.
